Swiss watchmaker Girard-Perregaux has recently introduced new Sea Hawk model, reference number 49960-32-632-FK6A. This is black “stealth” model with very little detail in red and bold markers and hands.
Waterproof of presented model meets the ISO 6425 standard and it’s 300m. It has the unidirectional bezel that rotates counter-clockwise. Case, with diameter of 44mm and thickness 17.80 mm, is made of ceramic as well as the rotating crown, with the addition of zirconium dioxide (ZrO2), white powder, which is not harmful for people and environment. This is resulted as with exceptional scratch resistance and hardness of 1400 HV (Vickers), compared to 180 HV (Vickers), typical for the steel casing.
Crown is at position 4h which is characteristic of the previous Sea Hawk models. The dial is reliefed with black color. Hour markers and hands are coated with luminescent coating, which certainly makes it easy to read the time in darkness. Power reserve indicator is located at position 6h with a red pointer, as well as the small second hand at position 10h. In order to ensure better visibility, date is not at common place, that is, it’s located between the first and second hour markers.
The mechanism that runs this model is the Girard-Perregaux GP03300-0074, with 27 jewels and power reserve of 46h. It operates at a frequency of 4 Hz, and the 28.800v / h. The model comes with a black rubber strap. Folding clasp is made of titanium and coated with a PVD coating.
