Antoine Martin Slow Runner – The Slowest Watch

From independent Swiss watch manufacture, Antoine Martin, comes slower mechanical watch. The company’s founder and chief watchmaker, Martin Braun, is behind this special watch. 30 years experience in watchmaking industry resulted as creation of a mechanism with the largest and slowest balance.

The watch diameter is 42 mm with diamter of balance of only 24 mm! This extraordinary work of watchmaking enthusiasts may be seen 25th April at Baselworld.

The mechanism operates at a frequency of 7,200 beats per hour (1Hz). Thus, the second hand moves unusually for a mechanical watch – the pointer shifts twice during a second.

The mechanism is AM36.001 caliber, with a diameter of 36mm and a height of 8.6 mm. It consists of 199 parts, and has 23 jewels.  The balance spring is made ​​of silicon. Power reserve is up to 96 hours and its indicator is located on the dial .
